Poverty is absence, is the best way to describe ones mindset who forces their attention on that which that have not, instead of giving thanks for that which they have. I have had the blessing of learning from life what I needed. Not that it was easy being homeless or being addicted to alcohol and or drugs prescription and and not. I share these things as a friend recently showed up for work drunk and was continuing to drink. It reminds me of the other friend and roommate who is no longer here as he kept choosing to drink rather then live his life. Intelligence was not the issue as he was a Doctor and had things going on the outside but was not happy on the inside. On day, I heard from a friend that they saw his name in the newspaper in a single car accident with a tree. I remembered thinking that by the grace of god I could have ended the same way as more then one occasion I drove from LA to San Diego when I should not have been driving.
But it was a great concert or girlfriend or party and you get the idea. Do you ever wonder what is the purpose of life ….and then ask why I am here and then start just thinking how many times have you been close to leaving for good and were unaware at the time. I am not a philosopher or poet just a singer who writes songs about life and the universal questions that we all have.

Hello Again World,
Mr Big Dreamers, BJ Bronstad bringing you information that is current relevant and useful. Enough said, so do you sell on-line? If so what makes your products stand out from the crowd. For that matter what makes you stand out? For better part of the last 4 years I have been making videos and posting them all over the Internet. I guess you would say that I use video as a means of separating myself from the rest of the world. How do you use video in marketing …. Well, that will be the subject of my next blog.
Today we are going to talk for a moment about Real Estate and marketing. I am using this example as I have had success marketing in real estate and it is a broad category that many people can relate to even if you are not in real estate.
But first a short story to get you thinking about branding, a unique selling point and the everyday world.
What I mean is this morning, I walked downed to the local convince store and got a cup of coffee and some creamer for our coffee at the office. While talking to the co-owner of the store Lonnie, he mentioned the talk about remodeling the store so that the products that customers grabbed first were close to the check out. He also talked about having more counter space for snack foods and better storage so that his customers never ran out of their favorite snack.
So this brings me to my point today what does selling snack foods and real estate have in common. They both relied on product placement. How many times have you heard location, location, location. In real estate that was the main reason people buy homes and commercial properties. If I sat with a couple who was looking for a home I had certain questions that help narrow that information down. Once I had done that I could search for properties in that target area.
So Know Lets turn that into something that you can use in you Marketing. There are several key questions that you have to ask yourself to get to the heart of the matter.
1) What is My unique selling point? This is easy with Google do a search for similar products and or services and then compare. How does your offer stand apart from theirs? Is it price or perceived value? Is is a unique way for marketing or assisting them to better offer themselves to the world? You get the idea.
2)What problem or solution do I solve for my clients? Does your product or service solve a need cut down on business expenses? Does it reduce waste or wasteful spending? Does it improve in some area that they are needing? More hits to a website or something like that. These are all questions that you need to ask yourself if your starting out or selling a new product or even creating a buzz over an old one. I not some over certified marketing expert. I have sold online again and again. I also have had great success in everything from MLM to Real Estate and mortgages. So I have personal used these questions to position myself as a trusted expert and set myself apart and thus my product or service. So they work and are very good at opening a dialog with your self. Logical sell yourself. How do you like to be sold. What makes you buy, if its price or service what makes it good, or great? Again, ask yourself better questions and you will find the answers.
3)What makes my product or service different then everyone else? I think that we covered that above but really dig down ans you determine if your different how are you? If your better in some area then How? It reminds me of that kid who learns by always asking Why? Remember that you have meet one of those kids or maybe you were one of those kids. Bill Gates studied Marketing he loved computers but knew he would have to sell so he studied Marketing in college.
4) When are my prospects looking for my product or service and is there some urgency in their need? When we learned about the internet Microsoft got good at helping us solve tasks that we needed to do. Internet Explore for example was created as a better browesr that could remember things for you. Wow problem solved. Did they invent that no they marketed it. Did they invent the PC no, but they marketed it. So you see how does your product serve a need for someone. Even better if its an urgent need. Someones car breaks down, when do they need the Tow? Right away so that is why the Tow Truck drivers hold you and your car ransom in some cases. Is it right NO! But that is another soap box. Marketing….
5)When are they looking for a solution to their problems?
Are they currently searching Google and the other search engines poring over ads looking for a solution and how do you then brand yourself to set you apart from the others. Think about ReMax they market themselves as being the number one because of there Outstanding agents, Outstanding results. They separate themselves in their branding by using a statement to be taken as a fact that their agents are the best. They get results. Coke did the same thing with the ” A Coke and a amile” ads that ran for years so now our Nero association is such that a Coke equals a smile.
Understanding the Nero association that we are all subject to helps us to determine the most effect way to really stand out in a competitive market place and have a very unique sales approach. That is another topic for another blog….
